Obama spends Father's Day in California

President Obama is spending Father's Day Sunday in southern California.
Obama has nothing on his public schedule, but aides said he will be consulting with aides about possible U.S. responses to jihadist threats against the government in Iraq.
The president received updates on Iraq Saturday from National Security Adviser Susan Rice, and "directed her to continue to keep him appraised of the latest developments, as his national security team continues to meet through the weekend to review potential options," said White House spokesman Josh Earnest.
The president and first lady Michelle Obama landed Friday night in the Palm Springs area.
In addition to national security briefings, Obama on Saturday headlined a fundraiser, delivered the commencement address to graduates of the University of California-Irvine, and played a round of golf with aides.
The Obamas "will spend Father's Day in Palm Springs with their daughter, Malia," Earnest said. "Sasha did not make the trip this weekend."
