Ronald Reagan was born in Tampico, Illinois, and went on to graduate from Eureka College with a degree in Economics. He then moved to Iowa, where he began his professional career working for the University of Iowa radio station, broadcasting football games. From there, he went on to higher profile radio work, before landing a seven-year acting contract with Warner Brothers in 1937. WWII interrupted his growing acting career, however, and he remained in the US Army until 1945. After completing his service, he became the President of the Screen Actors Guild, served as an FBI informant on Hollywood, and worked in television. He began pursuing a career in politics in the mid-40s, and became the Governor of California in 1976. He remained Governor until 1975. He ran for President in 1976, but did not receive the Republican nomination. He ran again in 1980 and went on to be elected President of the United States. He served for two terms. He passed away on June 5, 2004.
